Bau Filled Buns

Bau Filled Buns


Makes 18 Bau
Dough
Dissolve:
         2½    tsp. dry yeast      
         ½      cup warm water
Add:
         ½      cup milk- scalded and cooled
         ¼      cup sugar
         1       tsp. salt
         ¼      cup oil
Add:
         1       beaten egg
Add:
  3-3½    cups whole wheat flour
Knead and let rise until double, twice. Form small pieces and press flat. Put filling into center of dough and pinch sides together. Let rise. Bake on cookie sheet at 350 degrees until golden brown for 20-25 minutes.

Bau Filling
Chop very small and sauté:
         1       medium onion
   10-12     string beans, sliced small
         2       carrots, grated
         1       can Bamboo shoots, (sliced)
         3       mushrooms
         1       20oz. can Fri-Chik, drained and diced
Add and mix well:
         ½      tsp. George Washington broth
         ½      tsp. garlic powder
         ¼      tsp. garlic salt
         ½      tsp. McKay’s chicken seasoning
         dash sugar
         dash soy sauce

1       can Mushroom soup, undiluted
