Garlic Broccoli



Cut Broccoli crown into small florets.
Place into cooking pot with ½ inch water.
Cover and cook on medium heat until firm, but tender (gas range takes 4 minutes from start to finish). DO NOT OVERCOOK!   

While that is cooking…

Heat in a large frying pan:

2-3 T butter
5-10 fresh garlic cloves, pressed 

Drain steamed broccoli.

Toss in pan with butter garlic.
Stir until coated.
Sprinkle with fresh grated Parmesan cheese
   OR shredded mozzarella 
After cheese has melted serve hot.

I took this idea from the amazing broccoli side dish that they serve at Old Spaghetti Factory. It is so good it is hard to stop eating it. The menu states" Sides - Fresh Broccoli - Broccoli lightly flavored with Mizithra Cheese & Browned Butter" If you ever have the chance to try it there, it is a delight. Old Spaghetti Factory
