Best Brown Bread

Bring to boil:
1       cup water
 Add and remove from heat:
         1¼    cups raisins
         3       Tbsp. butter
         1½    tsp. baking soda
In separate mixing bowl beat:
         2       eggs
Add:
         1       cup sugar
         1¾    cup all-purpose flour
         1       tsp vanilla
         ½      tsp. salt
Stir in raisin mixture.
Grease three 16-oz. canned vegetable or fruit cans. Divide batter between the cans and place on a cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minute or until bread tests done. Let bread cool for 5 minutes before removing from cans. If necessary remove bottom from cans and push bread through.

This is a great use for cans after making a Three-Bean-Salad.
